Beldocs in Progress Award Ceremony

Beldocs in Progress Award Ceremony was held on the networking dinner on the night of May 8th at Restaurant “Reka”.

Two awards were handed out. Jury consisted of producer Sarita Matijević, director Dragan Nikolić and sales agent Donatien Pierda from Java Films.

Living Pictures Image Post-Production in kind prize worth 4000 Euro is given to the film “Museum of Revolution” directed by Srđan Keča.

Statement of the first award is as follows: “For its conceptual visual approach to deconstruct the notion of identity by using a never built museum in an abstract way in order to safeguard the truth about us today, which was the initial idea of the architect of the museum of revolution”.

Award was handed by Stefan Orlandić Stojanovski, the CEO of Living Pictures production and post-production company. Filmmaker Srđan Keča was not present since he is a filmmaker-academic based in California at Stanford University but he accepted his award via internet call.

Film Center Serbia 2000 Euro Cash Award is given to the film  “Telenovela: Gris y Multicolor” (“Telenovela: Grey-Scale In Color”), directed by Filip Martinović.

Award was handed by producer Sarita Matijević to Filip Martinović (director) and Nikola Savićević (producer).

Statement of the second award is as follows: “For using the situation humor with a strongly visual cinematography to depict a generation who was born during the decay of Yugoslavia, who fell apart to other parts of the world and who today still struggle to re-connect with their ex-yugoslav countries”.

Beldocs in Progress (BIP) is a platform to present Serbian documentary projects to national and international industry. The aim is to support the production, post-production, distribution, and exposition of Serbian documentaries on film festivals, TV channels and VOD platforms by presenting the projects to festival programmers, sales agents, distributors, TV commissioning editors and potential co-producers.

Beldocs in Progress took place in Belgrade (Serbia) on May 7th and 8th with rough cut screenings and presentations of works in progress videos of 7 Serbian documentary projects which are in progress of making.

International and national industry guests were present during screenings and feedback sessions were very fruitfull. International sales agents asked for more than 20 one to one meetings with the filmmakers of the projects for possible collaborations.
